Rochelle Tourism has several things planned for the park in the future!
Apply for grants through the Federal Govt. and State of Illinois to enhance and expand the Railroad Park.
Erect an Illinois Lincoln Highway Gazebo, which will provide history about the Lincoln Highway and it's association with the railroads.
Increase parking, including a RV lot with hookups.
Build a new replica depot gift shop.
Provide a basement area in the depot for youth and adult model railroad clubs.
Improve streets and sidewalks in the immediate area.
Provide a Lincoln Highway computer kiosk in the replica depot to further provide history on the Illinois Lincoln Highway, which is 1/2 block from the Rochelle Railroad Park.
The creation of a transportation museum which would be located in the current DelMonte building west of the diamond.
